I never discuss my weight in terms of who inspires me as far as fashion goes. Honestly, I still gravitate toward the lithe models who seem to gracefully transform any article of clothing into a beautiful piece of art. Call me a creation of our society, but it's true.

And honestly, that's all you ever see. WHERE MY BIG GIRLS AT? Oh yeah, page 150 in the way back wearing, yet again, another empire waisted, low neck line dress. Spare me. I'd rather squeeze my body into skinny jeans and work it.

With that being said, though, I do find myself oddly attracted to the most abstract plus-size fashion icons. This being mainly true about Beth Ditto. When I first saw pictures of Beth Ditto I was instantly amused by her bright colors and unapologetic love for her body. I also thought she was a bit dirty considering she doesn't wear deodorant or shave her arm pits (but really, who doesn't these days?). And I'll admit it, I was jealous of her confidence that seemed to permeate her very essence. She didn't/doesn't care, and I love it.

What I love most about her, though, is that her confidence translates into the clothing she wears.

She does not care. And why should she? She works what she has and looks amazing do it. Why wouldn't I look up to someone like that?

Beth said this about her body:

“I’m not an unhealthy person and I feel like one of the most tiring parts of being fat and being proud of it is… you do a lot of proving yourself all the time.

“It’s really interesting to me that people will look at a thin person and go, ‘That’s a healthy person’. I want to go, ‘Come open my refrigerator and look and then let’s talk about what you think is so bad’.

“To be thin and to stay really thin, sometimes… some people literally do coke all the time. Some people smoke cigarettes instead of eating. That’s crazy. But that’s ‘okay’ because you look healthier.”

I mean this doesn't just apply to plus size women, but rather all women who don't or can't seem to fit into what is "acceptable." I mean what is "acceptable" in today's world? WHO WAS JENNIFER HUDSON BEFORE SHE LOST 80 POUNDS?! These questions, guys, they plague my mind.

Love who you are because, no matter what, you're stuck with yourself for life.

I decided to get back into blogging simply because I now have a brand new laptop bought solely for blogging reasons...sorta.

I'm trying to think of what kind of approach to take with this blog. I'm assuming for now it'll be a pretty basic Confessions of a Video Vixen type of thing where I include some pics and discuss my daily happenings...which includes working/sleeping with rappers while single handedly ostracizing myself from the community that at one point made me.

So...anyway.

I got a new laptop because my Sony finally went kaput, and it was time to upgrade. Also, I'm using this computer for school. Oh yeah, did I mention that I'm applying for law schools? Well not yet exactly. I still have to take the LSATs, which has now become a reality since I bought the practice book today.

Buying the book and computer has put into my mind that yes, I am going to law school and yes, I really need to set up some sort of goal for my life. So without further ado, say hello to your future (possible) representation.

Omg. How embarrassing. Your future (possible) representation with...duck lips?

Moving on, isn't this a great intro to blogging?
